Highlighting Singapore as a cornerstone of Asian finance and a key strategic ally, Pramono noted that strengthening ties is imperative to catalyze fresh investment, expedite public-transit-centered urban growth, and foster deeper cooperation in city management aimed at improving public well-being.

In his view, the engagement with the two ministers is essential for scaling Jakarta’s global outreach and expediting its urban evolution. Through this collaboration, Jakarta seeks to cultivate a wider range of investment pathways, fortify regional connectivity, and hasten its emergence as a world-class global metropolis.
In a meeting with the Singaporean Minister for National Development, Chee Hong Tat, Governor Pramono focused on transit-centric urban growth, precinct revitalization, public commons, and improving residents' quality of life.
Pramono continued that Jakarta remains open to strategic investment partnerships and the sharing of best practices with Singapore in building a modern, sustainable metropolis.
“Our objective transcends merely securing a spot among the Top 50 Global Cities. Of paramount importance is ensuring that investments, public transit, and urban development tangibly translate into a more seamless, comfortable, and productive life for every Jakartan,” he explained.
Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan expressed his appreciation for the meeting with Governor Pramono. He described, Jakarta as a city defined by strong energy and dynamism, maintaining a robust relationship with Singapore through seamless air connectivity and vibrant community links.
“Jakarta exudes remarkable energy and dynamism. With over 200 flights per week bridging Singapore and Jakarta, this connectivity reflects the warmth and the enduring strength of our people-to-people bonds,” he explained.
Vivian noted that the meeting centered on initiatives to fortify bilateral collaboration, encompassing urban governance and sustainable development.
